By · CommentsSkepticism and Imagination
By · Comments“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” ~ Wintson Churchill
We all wrestle with moments of skepticism about some things. Perhaps it is because skepticism is easier than the discipline of actually considering the alternative. When thinking about the good things consider that skepticism is just a step away from doubt. Travel the skeptics road long enough and that particular truth will fall far behind you. On the other hand our imagination, like a map, allows us to see truth in our hearts before we see it with our eyes. Without our imagination we lose our sense of wonder for the things of God. Life becomes largely shades of grey, calling foolish those who exercise their imagination and see the world in all its glorious and vibrant colors. No wonder Jesus appealed to our child like faith and imagination with His parables.
Daily Routines
By · CommentsRoutines are a normal part of our day. They are good and sometimes good to break. With my busy schedule and frequent commitments, I guard my routines with vigor. But I routinely allow for variance in those routines as well. My typical days begin with coffee with my wife, help her get the kids ready and off to school and then I sit down in my chair with my stack of books and begin the rest of my day with prayer and Bible study. When I stick to this routine, I generally feel much more prepared and equipped for the rest of the day and the periodic surprises that may occur. What about you? Do you have a typical morning routine? Is it ideally set up for you to be ready for each day? If not, may I suggest modifying your routine to serve you and your day better?

Buy a Ford and help a family in need
By · CommentsIt is not often that I’ll freely advertise for a company but in this case, I have no problem. Tom Jones Ford’s effort to support the families of two Buckeye Police officers is commendable. A few weeks ago, officer Rolando Tirado was shot and killed while serving on an off duty job. His partner, officer Christopher Paz was also shot multiple times and is on the road to recovery. Tom Jones Ford has stepped up and is offering this fund raiser, as many other groups and organizations have, to help that families of both officers. Buckeye is a remarkable place to live and this is just another example of why. So next time you are in the market for a vehicle, please consider supporting Tom Jones Ford, because they support those who dedicate their lives to being there for you.
