My wife has recently resumed running again and with both our world getting busier, we decided to run together. We live near a great park where we can allow our kids to play while staying within eye-shot of them (think huge track with park and splashpad in the middle). While it may not be the most ideal running, it works for us for the time being.
With our half-marathon in January, we decided on the following race schedule to help us prepare in addition to our workouts. In August we will run a 5k followed by a 10k in September. October will be another 10k with a 15k in November. We are open to a 20k in November in order to have that distance under our belt already but of course that is basically a half marathon itself.
Between now and then, we are keeping each other excited, accountable, and motivated.

Twitter in plain English

It can be difficult to keep up with all the latest social networking movements. Not understanding it often leaves us feeling clueless or left out. Well, fear no longer. Watch the video by the good folks at commoncraft and be enlightened!
How would you classify yourself? Trendy, traditional, beat to your own drum? When it comes to your computing preference, do you personify the images projected about computer users?
As the web master, graphics artist, and publications director at work, when my computer gave up the ghost, those things came to a screeching halt. After one week my organization’s business admin sent out an SOS to some of our supporters about our computer dilemma (I work for a great non-profit organization). After a few days, enough resources came in and our business admin said, “It’s time.” Right then and there, we ordered it. A 24″ iMac. Needless to say, the waiting period was excruciating. But when the new toy arrived, I was waiting with video camera in hand for a documentary I was producing called, “Birth of a Fan-Mac-it.”
Before the Mac, I was (er, still am) a PC power user, and die hard Linux supporter. Today, I still enjoy the familiarity and ubiquitous resources of the Windows PC world. There is no diminished affinity towards the ideals of the open-source movement. My appreciation for each OS still exists. So what about you? As I asked before, when it comes to your computing preference, do you personify the images projected about computer users?
